Organometallic Superatom Complexes

چکیده
Intermetallics (M1/M2) of abundant metals very different properties can substitute rare and precious for industrial catalysis. A challenge in this context is the atom-precise -efficient catalyst design at size regime ≤ 1 nm, where every metal atom counts. Along these lines thought we have been developing a novel way to generate libraries all-hydrocarbon (R*) ligated clusters [M1aM1b](R*)c. These organometallic superatom complexes are molecular counterparts solid state M1/M2 materials. The electronic structure, e.g. open vs. closed ‘superatom shell’, controls stability reactivity. metastable hypothesis that they loaded with interrelated clusters, elusive highly reactive ones as well more accessible but less ones. chemical control parameters relate fundamental reaction networks nucleation, growth degradation, ligand and/or additive association, dissociation, cluster surface metal-atom site activation by deprotection reactions small molecules. article personal account long-time research enterprise on coordination chemistry group12/13 metallo-ligands transition centers, related mixed-metal emergence “living libraries” such clusters.

Catalytic organometallic anticancer complexes.
Organometallic complexes offer chemistry that is not accessible to purely organic molecules and, hence, potentially new mechanisms of drug action. We show here that the presence of both an iodido ligand and a sigma-donor/pi-acceptor phenylazopyridine ligand confers remarkable inertness toward ligand substitution on the half-sandwich "piano-stool" ruthenium arene complexes [(eta(6)-arene)Ru(azpy...
متن کاملOrganometallic complexes as anion hosts.
New anion hosts have been accessed using cationic organometallic fragments with sufficient kinetic stability as geometry-organizing cores, simple ditopic ligands featuring hydrogen bond donor groups, and the inert, low interacting, lipophilic BAr'(4) anion.
متن کاملCyclopropenation of organometallic vinylidene complexes
The chemistry of metal cyclopropenyl complexes derived from deprotonation of cationic ruthenium vinylidene complexes is reviewed. Such a metal coordinated cyclopropenyl ligand can be used for the preparation of heterocyclic compounds. The chemical reactivity of cyclopropenyl complexes is influenced by the nature of substituents on the three-membered ring and by the nature of ancillary ligand ar...
متن کاملActivation Mechanisms for Organometallic Anticancer Complexes
Organometallic complexes offer potential for design as anticancer drugs. They can act as inert scaffolds and specifically inhibit enzymes such as kinases, or as pro-drugs which undergo activation by various mechanisms. The activation of metallocenes, arene, alkyl or aryl complexes by hydrolysis, and metalor ligandbased redox reactions is discussed.
متن کاملOrganometallic Pyridylnaphthalimide Complexes as Protein Kinase Inhibitors.
A new metal-containing scaffold for the design of protein kinase inhibitors is introduced. Key feature is a 3-(2-pyridyl)-1,8-naphthalimide "pharmacophore chelate ligand" which is designed to form two hydrogen bonds with the hinge region of the ATP-binding site and is at the same time capable of serving as a stable bidentate ligand through C-H-activation at the 4-position of the electron-defici...
